Cabinet photograph of "Rocky Mountain Joe" who was really Joseph B. Sturtevant. He was a photographer , mostly in Colorado in the 1880-1890 period. He holds an 1886 Winchester rifle and wears an Indian beaded pouch. His photograph company was Meile & Sturtevant, Boulder, Colorado. He thought a lot of himself as a frontiersman, thus the nick name Rocky Mountain Joe. This one is signed on the back by him as Rocky Mountain Joe and his real name.
