Circa 1873-1875 small CDV size cabinet image of John Newman Edwards. He wrote the first definitive book on the Quantrill Guerrillas and the James Boys. He was a newspaper man and wrote dime novels on the James boy. He was also a close friend of Jesse and Frank James. He was instrumental in helping Frank James being declared innocent in his two trials and allowing Frank to have a useful life thereafter. It is signed in ink on the back.
