George Waightman, Alias Red Buck, was known as one of the meanest outlaws in Oklahoma. He was a horse thief, killer, and robber. He was once arrested by Deputy Marshal Heck Thomas for steeling horses and sent to prison. He served three years and was released. After that he became a member of the Doolin Gang. He was involved in killing three deputy marshals. He murdered a minister after the Dover train robbery in April, 1895. Doolin was furious and kicked him out of the gang. Waightman then became a killer for hire. He murdered rancher Gus Holland. He formed his own gang after than murder . He killed an Indian Policeman and was himself killed on March 4, 1896 by Deputy Marshal Joe Ventioner. He tied his body to a post and allowed him to be photographed in this photograph.
