Here is one of the unsung, hard working lawmen of the early West. His name was Scott White. He arrived in Arizona in 1881. He started out in mining and later became Cochise County Sheriff from 1893-1894 and again from 1897-1900. He also became a Legislator and was appointed U.S. Deputy Marshal in Arizona. He lived in Tombstone for 20 years. He was responsible for the arrest of the Halderman brothers and their later hanging for murder at the County Courthouse. He was a tough and brave enforcer of the law.
