Left:  Samuel O'Brien Harris and his wife Maggie taken in 1882 by Gannaway in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was from Booken, Oklahoma Territory.  Right: U.S. Deputy Marshal Harris covering Indian Territory under Judge Isaac Parker also taken by Gannaway. He is wearing his badge. He is listed on the internet as taking the Marshal oath in 1889 for a few short months but this image in dated 1888. He may have enlisted and served from 1888 until 1889 (unknown).  Both images are fully identified on the back by their son.  It is rare to have any photograph of one of these historic Deputy Marshals especially wearing their badge.  They are both albumen photographs.
