Some images are offered as this person, or that person, when they are not. This was offered as a famous Mountain man and scout(Jim Baker), which it IS NOT. However, the price was right for what it IS. It is a cabinet photograph of a buckskin dressed man, holding a 1876 Winchester rifle and wearing a sheathed knife. His slouch hat with a black military style feather is a nice touch. Also, the high top military style boots. He could be a scout, who knows. At any rate, it is a rare and interesting western image. No photographer's mark.
