I have no idea. The photograph was taken by E. D. Sidwell, Springfield, Illinois. The man in the image is not identified. He wears a small double action revolver in a holster on his right side. He has on a full fringed costume; jacket and pants. They look like they fit him. The photographer "could" been staged this image but I feel not. He may have simply been going out West and dressed for travel there. Interesting image.
