Great image dating in the 1890-1900 period of Jane Canary, known as Calamity Jane. She was a bull wacker, wagon driver, sometime Scout, heavy drinker, cussed like a sailor, and all out entertainer. She boasted as being Wild Bill Hickok's girl friend and even wife but both are doubtful. She certainly knew Wild Bill in Deadwood as well as most of the famous and infamous characters in the 1870-1890 period. Historically, she is one of the most famous women in the Old Wild West. Original images of her today command high prices.
