Very rare image of Calamity Jame when she was married to a man named Clinton Burke in her later years. I have seen TWO of these images in my collecting life ( one here and one in the former McCubbin Collection). Her husband, Clinton Burke was from Texas. They moved to Boulder, Colorado and she gave birth to a daughter, Jesse, in 1887, who was later adopted by foster parents. The marriage did not last. After this period she worked for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and appeared in 1901 at the Pan-American Exposition. She died in 1903, in the Calloway Hotel in Deadwood, SD on August 1. She was buried in the Mount Moriah Cemetary next to Wild Bill Hickok.
