(His Royal Highness) the Prince of Wales at Sandringham April 15, 1879, on which occassion he broke one hundred glass balls consecutively with rifle". Doc Carver also was the creator of the diving horse attraction in the shows. He was originally trained as a dentist. He later won many metals and was in several shooting competitions during his life. He even challenged the famous trick shooter Captain Adam Bogardus but that was never anything that happened in that period. In 1879, He toured Europe. He did meet Borgardus in 1883 and beat his 83 to 82. After that they traveled to St. Louis and Carver beat him shooting play pidgeons, Carver won 19 0f the 25 matches.
He went into partnership with W.F. Cody in Omaha, Nebraska in 1883. Contests between Carver and Bogardus were highlighted in the season. However, Cody and Carver never got along and the partnership ended after only that one season. After that Carver's success wained. He died August 31, 1927.
