Original 1/6th plate tintype of Cal Carter, member of the James gang. On the face of the tintype in contemporary pencil is "Cale Carter 1875". Cal was once arrested because they thought he was Jesse James. When mistake was known, he was released. Little is known about him except he is mentioned in a number of books on Jesse and Frank James.
