Soapy Smith was a Con Man and early Western gangster. He had a gang who operated confidence scams. His main organizations were in Colorado and Alaska. He was killed in a shootout in Juneau, Alaska on July 8, 1898. This photograph is a real photo postcard image of a famous one showing him standing in front of a bar in a Saloon in Alaska. He was quite a character and a totally corrupt criminal.
