Original cabinet photograph. This image printed either as a pirated image or a later reprint from the original negative. So called copyrights were routinely violated in early photography. Many important photographs were bough by photographers and copied for resale.  However, this is a nice copy none the less. He became an important Apache Scout and later an outlaw renegade rightfully feared. He served some time in Alcatraz prison but his conviction was overturned and he was released. New warrants were drawn up and he was rearrested and sentenced to 7 years. He was sent to the prison in Globe, Arizona and then transferred to Yuma Territorial Prison in 1889. He and 8 others escaped and all were recaptured except the Kid. He simply disappeared. His death is generally dated as 1894 but there is much controversy over when and where to this day.
