Cody shakes the hand of an unidentified man while the famous prize fighter, John L. Sullivan sits in the car. The image dates in 1908. It is in snapshot format taken in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Photograph descended from W. F. Cody to his daughter Irma Cody Garlow to his great granddaughter Patsy Garlow. It was in the Cody museum for many years until sold among several private images sold by the family. It bears a BBHC (Buffalo Bill Historical Center) number on the back. These photographs were NOT meant for the public.
