1880's period, crudely tinted, photograph of a prospector above the town of Ouray, Colorado. I have owned this photograph for over 40 years. Although crudely tinted, it is a great history of period mining and prospecting. He has two fully loaded burrows ready to go out and look for gold. He hold his Winchester rifle as well. It was a very hard life and they were very touch men like none today.
