Pawnee Bill with M&H

Pawnee Bill with M&H

A rather different view of Pawnee Bill from the more common ones.    I have had this many, many years.   He is in an embroidery shirt, shotgun chaps, a long watch chain and holding a ivory handled Merwin and Hulbert revolver as if to show it off... He has an empty three loop holster.     The image is by Wendt, New York circa 1890.     He is neither young nor old.    Typical of these theater photographers, development was not their forte.    It is light as a result of poor development, not fading.
