This "superior size" albumen cabinet photograph is of Butte, Montana Territory, in 1867. It is identified on the back. Even this early, Butte was a fairly substantial town. Much snow is on the ground on this street and the buildings. On the front right, two children play in the snow as they do today. This is a rare image to find.
