This is a famous photograph taken the day Jesse James was murdered by Bob Ford. You can see the crowd of curious townspeople gathered around the house and property to try and catch a glimpse of the body, his wife Zee, or the children. Everything was sold at auction a day or two later as Zee was left with nothing. After that, these "good citizens" stripped the house of whatever souvenirs they could pry out or tear out inside the house and grounds.
