This stereo is only identified as "Indian Chief".  There is no further identification.   He wears brain tanned jacket and pants with heavy fringe and some bead work. He is holding a dron in one hand and the beater in the other.    He is wearing a buffalo horned headdress.  He is obviously a Plains Indian.    The stereo was produced by the Smithsonian Institution, Wash'n, D.C. in 1873.  The photographer was C. Seaver, Jr.    On the back is a lengthy description of the Smithsonian Institution.
