Two Real Cowboys off the range

Two Real Cowboys off the range

Here is a large cabinet photograph of the late 1880's of two obviously real cowboys who came off the range to "have their picture took".   The man on the left had a straw Sombrero on. He wears a short barreled Colt in his holster and a full cartridge belt.  He is the real thing.  His skinny partner has on (for his times) a fancy shirt and he  wears a Colt in his holster as well.   The straw Sombrero seem to indicate Texas, Arizona, or New Mexico.  There is no photographer's mark or location on the mount front or back.   It is a very nice real life image though.
