I have had this CDV photograph for many, many years. I know only what is contemporarily written on the back. But, what is written is a real KICK. He is identified as Barker on the front. On the back is written: " Jim Barker dead of wounds from eight loads of buckshot at close range at Coffeeville, Kansas July or August, 1879... Although shot to pieces his death was due immediately to Horse's dose of bromide administered by a drunken Quack. Barker was the ablest man of his profession... Desperado in the Territory. Signed MOTT HOOTON, Co the 22nd. Infantry".
