As far as I know, this is the only original cabinet photo of these two gals extant today. I bought this image from Herb Peck, Jr. in the mid 1970's. It has been published by Noah Rose. The image itself dates from the mid 1890's. Left to right is: Annie McDoulet (Cattle Annie) and Jennie Medkiff (Little Britches). Cattle Annie holds an 1886 Winchester carbine. Little Britches wears an ivory handled Colt SAA. There is very little details known about either of them but they were more gang "Mols" than outlaws. The friends and girl friends of the Oklahoma Territory outlaws. This photograph was taken when they were captured. Early articles written when they were captured say that they were part of the Dalton and Cook gangs and did ride on several raids. They were between 15-17 years old at the time. After being captured in 1895 both were sentenced to 2 years in the reform school for selling whiskey to the Indians and stealing horses. They were captured three times but escaped until finally captured in Pawhuska, Oklahoma Territory in 1895. This is one of my favorite photographs.
