Another image of May Lillie I recently found by Pentz and Swords, York, Pa. I have several others by same photographers as well as Swords Bros. This image of May is near the time they first married. She was very beautiful and evidently a crack shot! She is dressed all in black with a black cowgirl hat decorated with large conchos. She holds her single shot target rifle. The enduring love and devotion these two people had for each other is well know in history. They enjoyed a long life together and had one son. She died on September 17, 1936 when her husband Gordon lost control of their car driving back to their ranch. He never really recovered from her loss.
