Studio cabinet card of teenager (looks 13-14 years old) in Cowboy shirt, hat, shotgun chaps, and boots. ALL are his own. He has his rope next to his right arm. This image is circa 1890-1900. Young boys were well trained in this period of time to work daily on the ranch the same as a farmer's children did on the farm. They married by 17-18. Life was far shorter then than now by far. Life was hard. Medical care was medieval. Antibiotics did not exist. This fine young man looks ready to do whatever was needed of him. Nice, historical photograph of real life.
