This is a use of an original image you may not see much of. This original albumen image of the Dodge City Cowboy band is inside the top of a box of Cow Boy Band Cigars of the period. The Tax stamp is dated 1883.It is preserved in EXCELLENT condition. I have only the top. Not the rest of the box. I have never seen another example. Wish I could buy the whole box! The bandsmen are all sitting and standing together with their instruments. They are all wearing holstered, ivory handled, Colt SAAs. Two small band member boys lie at their feet armed with small, ivory handled revolvers. Their Band Director and Band Leader sit at each end. Their banner with a set of Long Horns is set up behind them. Really unique!
