Major John M. Burke, otherwise known as "Arizona John". Excellent cabinet card. He was the General Manager of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Shows. He served in the Yankee army in the Civil War as he was born in New York. He later served as a frontier Scout where he met Cody. He also became Cody's Press Agent from 1872 to 1917. He invented many marketing techniques for his time and met many U.S. Presidents. He became very famous in his own right. He died on April 12, 1917 penniless and with no heirs. He is buried in DC's Mount Olivet Cemetery. This image has been published and this copy is mint. Today, images of Burke are rare and hard to get in any form. You will pay well for one.
