Real photo postcard of Calamity Jane (Cannary) identified in the negative. It is a known and published view. It also has a copy of a clipped Obit under the photo. Martha Jane Cannary (1852-1903) was a very well known frontierswoman , trick shooter, wagon master, and raconteur. She was a known acquaintance of Wild Bill Hickok. In her later life, she appeared with Buffalo Bill in Wild West Shows and in the Pan-American Exposition in 1901. This photo was taken of her in Deadwood, SD shortly before she passed away. It is quite rare and desirable.
