He has a wonderful, heavily decorated, coat with fringe on bottom, arms and shoulders. Look at those high top Showman's boots! He is holding a rare lever action, Evans Repeating Rifle designed by Warren R. Evans with a high capacity magazine. The gun itself is rare and valuable in fine condition. It is rarer to see one in a photographs. He is probably a showman with that type of "handle".
