Large albumen photograph taken in 1886 of Kansas City, Missouri Police Department with their new Gatling Gun. Man on the far right in Chief of Police Thomas Speers. Historians do not believe the Gatling was ever used but it was presented as a "show of force" when needed. In the photograph is the Chief and 13 officers at this time.
