"Cap" Hatfield was the second oldest child of Devil Anse Hatfield. Devil Anse was also called "Captain" so Cap is derived from that. Cap became Anse's second in command. Capt was well know as being violent. He was involved in may shootouts during the feud. He was later arrested but escaped and was involved in the famous "Devil's Backbone" fight at Hatfield's hideout with Randolph McCoy. Cap escaped the fight. He died in 1930 of a brain desease. Cap is the man seated in the middle holding the knife. The image is signed on the back by Cap Hatfield himself.
