I admit to being particularly fond of images of Lillian Smith; especially early ones. I even like them better than photographs of Annie Oakley. This one is very early on in her carrier. She is a new "find" by Buffalo Bill and probably 14 years old or there abouts. She is photographed here with three of her guns; two rifles and one shotgun. She wears a shooting metal and ribbon. Her long black hair draped over her shoulder. I have no idea what the cannon balls at her feet mean. Probably nothing at all. She wears a cartridge belt and has a small caliber revolver tucked behind it on HER left hand side. Great photograph of her!
