Sometimes it is just as simple as where the photograph is taken that draws you to it. This one is from Wichita, Kansas, a rare place to get an image like this. It was taken by Lee W. Ong, Douglas Avenue, Wichita, Kansas. I would guess late 1880's to 1890's. It is a CDV size photo. A young cowboy with a white shirt and more colorful scarf. He does not wear a belt. He wears a sash around his waist with a small caliber Colt percussion stuck into it. He holds a single shot rifle. It is an artistically well done image.
