This is a famous, published photograph of the Ranchers with their hired Texas gunslingers called "The Invaders" in May, 1892 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The gunslingers were all hired by the Wyoming Stock Growers Association. Their goal was to exterminate the homesteaders, that the Ranchers believed were stealing the land they used to graze their cattle on. I am not going to detail the War here. You can read that on the internet. Suffice it to say that at this time the group was under arrest at Fort Russell as the County Jail was unable to hold them.  Front roll, seated, five from the left is a young Frank Canton.  Second roll, seated 8th from the left is Buck Garrett. Buck Garrett was designated as the Leader. The men at the top and right side were Ranchers and Cattle Barons.  This is an ORIGINAL, period cabinet photograph taken by the famous Wyoming photographer Kirkland in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
