This is an original Post Card image of the train robber Bill Carlisle under arrest in April, 1916. In 1907 he worked as a ranch hand in Montana. In 1916, he robbed a train in Wyoming with a toy pistol. He held up two more trains a month later. He was arrested in April, 1916 and sent to prison in Wyoming State Prison for life. He was paroled in 1936 and opened a cigar store in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Then he and his wife opened a motel in Laramie, Wyoming. He toured the country in the 1940's promoting western movies and wrote his autobiography in 1946, mostly fiction. He died in 1964.
