This is a very rare tintype photograph of Jim Courtright, Alias Long Hair Jim, about 1870. It could be his wedding photo as he married his wife Sarah Weeks in that year. They moved to Fort Worth , Texas area in 1873. He moved into the town of Fort Worth in 1876. He became a jailer and the served as City Marshal from 1876-1879. He was shot dead outside of the White Elephant Saloon by Luke Short on February 8, 1887. Courtright instigated the gun fight and lost. This image belonged to Courtright's daughter LuLu May Courtright Hart.
