In the old West, 40 was considered old. This cowman was probably in his late 40s to 50s. There is no location or photographer's marks. It is a small cabinet card circa late 1880s, early 1890s. The horse looks like a fine, pure breed Buckskin. The old boy wears a Colt SAA in a holster and has a long, heavy beard. I bet he was a tough old bird for his time. You can see a RR track in the background and a couple of wooden buildings.
