This photograph is by J.R. Riddle, Topeka, Kansas. The man's name C.W. Teed is written in contemporary pencil on the back. Teed has a Montana peak cowboy hat, a white scarf around his neck and he is wearing a truly fancy fringed buckskin jacket; one of the best I have seen. He has fringed pants as well.  Around his waste is a wide cartridge belt and a holstered Colt SAA. He is holding a Winchester 1876 rifle. This is a studio view but I do not feel it is staged. Everything seems to fit him well and he is relaxed. Over the years of collecting these images, you get a feel for what is staged and what is not. image dates in the 1880s.
