John Y. Nelson was quite a character. He was with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Shows for a number of years. He was also an early Scout, guide, and frontiersman over 50 years. He has been noted as one of the most experienced American trappers. In the Wild West Shows he drove the Stage. He was married to an Indian woman and had several children.
