Unusual subject matter. This is an unmounted paper photographs dating after 1900. It is marked in the negative "Indian Mail Carrier" (perhaps on the reservation). He is mounted, holds a lasso and has a large bag attached to his saddle. I assume this was where the mail was carried? A mystery photograph.
