This cabinet photograph shows an older man dressed in a fancy Indian beaded Buckskin outfit of the 1880s. In ink below the image is written, "The Desparado's Returns", and on the back , in the same hand, is written B.M. Wentworth, New Hampshire. The image was taken by Hawkins In Union City, Mich. It shows a great costume in the period! Perhaps he had been out west and this is the photo of his final return home? Many Easterner ventured West to find their fortune. Few did.
