This tintype came with the tintype of Luke Short I have just posted. It is not IDed on the back. It has been identified in the early collection as a circa 1880-1881 image of Charlie Storms. It looks a lot like the Charlie Storms image I have posted in this section. However,  he is much more "cleaned up" here. Charlie was a gunman, gambler, sometime heavy drinker, and personal friend of Bat Masterson.  He got into a argument at the Faro table with Luke Short (Masterson was also present) on February 25, 1881 in Tombstone, Arizona.  Masterson tried to get involved and calm things down. He took Storm outside and returned to Short. As Short and Masterson stepped outside, Storms drew on Short. Short shot him dead through the heart. Masterson later testified in court that the shooting was self defense on Short's side. Short was released. There are no other known photographs of Storms to compare with.
