This is a beautiful cabinet photograph of a young man dressed in full buckskins. It is probably staged but, if so, it has been done right. He is wearing a buckskin shirt and pants that match and appear to fit him OK as long as he is sitting down. He has the correct style broad brim hat turned back, has a Colt SAA stuck in his cartridge belt and holds a hammer shotgun. He is a bit too young though to be real. It is sharp and clear and shows the correct clothing worn in the period by someone who was a real buckskinner, cowboy, or scout. As these cloths were probably worn by many men having their photographs taken, I bet they smelled high in BO.
