Comanche Chief Quanah Parker circa 1879

This is a later printed image by Collins, Lawton, O.T. of Quanah Parker. There is an elaborate write up of him under the photograph. I only 1/2 agree with it. It is easy to love the white man after you are captured. He was the son of a Comanche chief and a captive white woman named Cynthia Ann Parker. The Comanches were RUTHLESS Indians who enjoyed using the worse forms of human torture because they enjoyed inflicting extreme pain. They were virtually destroyed when caught in a blind canyon in 1876 and most were killed after causing terror and death across Texas for many years. Quanah was as ruthless as any others in his tribe and only became more pro white after he was captured and had no other choice. This image was taken in 1879 and this copy was, in essence, pirated, by Collins prior to 1907. It is a rare image to find in any antique print.
