Are these RR bandits or staged townsmen? Who knows? Who cares? I don't. It is a really Fun image. It is an original tintype dating from the 1870s. On the front, in contemporary ink, it says: "The Gang, Robbed Central RR". No other information or IDs are given. It is still sealed in its original paper mounting. The men are bedecked with hand guns, Winchester rifles and Bowie knives. They wear civilian clothing of the period and high top boots.
