4.5" x 6" Type II, vintage, unmounted sepia image of Judge Roy Bean sitting on his famous white horse in front of his historic saloon and courthouse circa 1900-1910. He wears a Mexican sombrero hat. Two men stand on the porch of his iconic saloon. Bean was a saloon keeper and Justice of the Peace in Val Verde County, Texas. He called himself "The only law West of the Pecos" and he held court inside of the saloon. This image is from the personal archives of photographer John Tackett. It was later in the collection of Jim and Theresa Earl sold by Bonhams Los Angles. Roy Bean images in any format are very hard to obtain today. Early, original cabinet photographs are nearly impossible.
