Many times published, iconic cabinet photograph of the aftermath of the Wounded Knee Battle (or brutal massacre) in 1891 of the Sioux Indians on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in S.D. The man on his back is the main Medicine Man of the tribe after he was killed. I will not explain the details as there are many books, articles, movies, documentaries, and information on the internet you can read. This image was produced by the Northwestern Photographic Co. in Chadron, Nebraska. The image is hard to look at but it is VERY IMPORTANT to see it in order to understand man's inhumanity to man. The event was totally uncalled for.
