I cannot tell if this man is an old mountain man or just a bum. His clothing is torn, dirty and shabby. He is holding some sort of cut down percussion rifle. He looks like he smells to high heaven! I assume he did. I would have hated to have been the photographer. The photograph was taken by A.M. Moore, Gilroy, Cal. It is in the 1880's period.
