Interesting cabinet photograph of Donald McKay (I have others of him on site now). It was taken May 26, 1891, age 55 years but looks older. The image has several identifications in the negative that can easily be read. He was a major Scout and leader of the Indians that ended the Modoc Wars in 1873. He is in buckskins and beaded sash of his rank in his tribe. Rarer image of him.
