William Fredrick Milton Arny was the governor of New Mexico Territory and the U.S. Indian Agent of the Territory. He died in Topeka, Kansas Sept. 18, 1881. He was quite a outgoing man and supporter of the Indians. He sometimes dressed in full beaded buckskins to emphasize his support.
