This is a corker image and a BIG SURPRISE! This is an original tintype photograph found in the personal sample album of photographer DUNCAN, Pierce City, Mo. It was clearly identified as FATIMA, belly dancer in Tombstone at Birdcage Theater in 1881. It was obtained from Duncan's grandson in the 1970's by collector Joe F. Goodson and sold to me. Fatima was glamorized as young, thin, and beautiful in books, articles, and collector's minds (mine included). This is the real lady dancer. In the old west, where women were scarce at this time, I have no doubt she WAS beautiful and very sexy dancing on the stage, setting fire to the imaginations of the cowboys and miners of that time.
